VINELAND, NJ (March 24, 2009)— Dr. Brad Bernardini of the South Jersey Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) on February 25, 2009, during ceremonies at the Academy's 2009 Annual Meeting in Las Vegas. Dr. Bernardini was one of 667 new members inducted to the Academy with 35,256 members worldwide.

Dr. Bernardini is a dedicated sub-specialist in Arthroscopic Surgery and Sports Medicine-related injuries to the knee and shoulder. He also has extensive experience in arthroscopic treatment of the elbow, wrist, ankle and hip. His residency training was performed at the University of Connecticut, which is world renowned for its advanced research in the area of musculoskeletal repairs and reconstructions. This was followed by an additional year of specialized arthroscopic training at the Taos Orthopedic Institute in Taos, NM, where he completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine.

The AAOS is the largest medical association for musculoskeletal specialists. Its Fellows have completed medical school, plus at least five years of specialty study in orthopedics in an accredited residency program, passed a comprehensive written and oral exam and been certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

As an active member of the United States Ski and Snowboard Physician Pool Program, Dr. Bernardini covers US Ski team events on an annual basis. He has also been invited to serve as an orthopedic consultant and event coverage physician for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) events and remains an active member of the Vineland High School Sports Medicine Team, providing sideline support to his alma mater's football team.
